Whether they build you up or knock you down, no one gets you like your siblings. When you just can’t agree, hash it out over a glass of wine, or two. If all else fails, play rock, paper, scissors. It works for the Speck Bros. who’ve made wine together for over 30 years.

Blending wine is like mixing colours or preparing a nice meal. Each grape variety of wine has its very own character – and when combined with the other grape varieties within the blend, results in a layer cake of complex and tonguetastic ecstasy in the glass.

We’ve been making wine since our father bought the first plot of land from our ancestry in 1982.

2019 Sibling Rivalry Red

A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Gamay, Sibling Rivalry Red is dark, juicy and delicious. Lots of lush berry flavours. The savoury notes from oak aging add ambiance, like dinner by the fire in the den or the backyard.

Fermented in stainless steel tanks with full maceration. Aged with American oak for 8 months.

Something as simple as burgers on the barbeque, mild curry, or a vegetarian pasta dinner.

“The nose shows ripe pear and melon fruit with lemon citrus with floral tones. Very appealing. The palate is midweight and almost dry with vibrant acidity and very good length. Enjoy on its own or with chicken, veal and pork dishes”

“Vibrant fresh fruity red…with lovely bright acidity and soft tannins. Nice lingering finish. Expect aromas of red cherry and raspberry fruit with some dry herbal and mild spicy tones. It is midweight and youthful with lively fruit and is dry on the finish.”
